By now everyone should know that New York is the proud host city for Pride 2019, celebrating 50 years since the Stonewall Bar uprising with events, cultural events and films all month long.
Recently the SVA cinema (School of Visual Arts) in the Chelsea neighbourhood of Manhattan hosted a three-day film presentation featuring shorts and documentaries, produced by NewFest and out Cinema.
Deep in Vogue and Invisible Women were the two films from the U.K. I saw. Adam and wig were also featured. After the screening a q&a was arranged followed by a get-together party in the cinema’s lobby where we chatted with the films cast and mingled with celebrities.
Just a sample of activities associated with LGBTQ+ culminating with the pride March on 30th June.
